In 1986 I was divorced. I had been married for 12 years to a man who was emotionally unavailable and miserly. I left the marriage with a $450 settlement and custody of my 12 year old daughter. While I received child support, it was a hard road financially but I managed to survive and raised an incredible daughter (academically and personnally). I have been in several relationships with men who I have financially supported and have left me in debt over and over again. This is a pattern I am trying to break. My credit has been destroyed and I have nothing to show for it. No house, no car, no savings, no hope. Three years ago my mother died suddenly in Ohio. In order to pay for a plane ticket for myself and my daughter I borrowed money from a Payday loan store. Since then I have gotten into a horrible payday loan cycle, not just one but four and so most of my paycheck goes into fee payments and rollover interests. I have a good job, I actually have two jobs, work hard and try to give of myself to others. I have clearly made some bad choices but believe that with a little help and maybe a lot of luck I can get myself in a better space. My wish is to be able to pay off my payday loans which would require about $2,500. I have only a few small bills beyond that and my rent. I would then be able to save some money, help others and possibly make a visit to my daughter who is halfway across the country from me. Thanks for letting me make this wish. I didn't know it would feel this good to actually make a wish and think that it could come true.
